Everyone with a PlatformDTC account has a personal link. When a business starts a store through it, you earn 20% of what PlatformDTC makes from that business for its first 12 months. You don’t need to apply, and there is no limit on how many businesses you bring in. Everything lives under Refer & earn in the dashboard menu. Your link looks like https://platformdtc.com/?via=your-store. Copy it from Refer & earn and share it anywhere: your site, a post, a newsletter, a message to a friend who sells online. The “Made with PlatformDTC” badge at the bottom of your store already uses your link. When a shopper clicks it and starts their own store, it counts for you. Someone who opens your link has 90 days to sign up, and it still counts. If they came through someone else’s link first, the first link keeps the credit.

What you earn

You get 20% of what PlatformDTC earns from the business, not a share of their sales: It runs for 12 months from the day they sign up, across every store they open.

When you get paid

  1. On hold for 60 days. New earnings wait 60 days, the window in which refunds and chargebacks usually happen. If an order is refunded or charged back, the earnings on it go with it.
  2. Ready to pay. After the hold, the money is ready once the business has made real sales to real customers: at least 3 paid orders from at least 2 different buyers.
  3. Paid to your bank. Once you have earnings, the screen asks for your payout details (Add payout details; it takes a few minutes, once). Until then there is nothing to set up. We pay automatically on the 1st and 16th of each month when you have at least $50 ready. If you don’t want to wait, press Get paid now.
If a refund or chargeback lands after you were paid, that amount comes off your next payout.

Who doesn’t count

  • You. Your own accounts, the same email or company email domain, a business you’re part of, or a store that pays PlatformDTC with the same card as you.
  • Stores with too many chargebacks. A store over the card networks’ chargeback limit (0.9% of card orders over 30 days, once it has 3 or more) earns nothing for that period.
  • Stores that never sell. If a business never makes real sales, the earnings on it are not paid.
The screen tells you in plain words when someone you referred doesn’t count, and why.

For agents

Agents connected to your store can read your link and earnings with dtc_referral_status (permission finance:read). It returns your link, the terms, what is on hold, ready and paid, your payout state and the businesses you referred. Payout details and Get paid now are yours only, in Refer & earn.
