Rates by plan
Percentages are of the payment amount, or of the payout amount for the payout fee. Scale is the
$2,000 plan previously shown as Enterprise; its rates did not change.
The dispute, payout and account amounts are those our payment processor charges for a payments
account in the United States. For a payments account in another country, the amount the processor
charges for that country applies, at cost.
What “at cost” means
A fee marked at cost is exactly what our payment processor charges for it, passed on with no margin added. PlatformDTC pays these fees to the processor on your store’s behalf and recovers the same amount from you — nothing more.- Only fees the processor actually charged are recovered. If the processor charges no fee for something — for example a dispute it did not charge a dispute fee for — you pay nothing for it.
- A credit the processor gives back is passed on in full, such as the contested-dispute fee returned when you win.
- If the processor changes one of these fees, we give you notice before recovering a changed amount.
When each fee applies
Card processing — domestic card
Your plan’s rate applies to every successful card payment where the card was issued in the same country as your payments account: 3.8% + 30¢ on Basic, 3.5% + 30¢ on Pro, 3.4% + 30¢ on Scale. That rate is one all-in fee. It covers the processor’s domestic card fee (2.9% + 30¢), passed through at cost, plus PlatformDTC’s commission — 0.9% on Basic, 0.6% on Pro and 0.5% on Scale. There is no separate transaction fee on top. Apple Pay and Google Pay are priced as the card behind them.International cards — +1.5%, at cost
When a card was issued outside the country of your payments account, 1.5% of the payment is added to that payment’s fee. For a payments account in the United States, cards issued in Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa and the US Minor Outlying Islands count as US cards. It applies to card payments, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. The international card fee is not added to Klarna or Afterpay payments.Currency conversion — +1%, at cost
When an order is charged in a currency other than your payments account’s default currency, 1% of the payment is added to that payment’s fee. It applies to any payment method, including Klarna and Afterpay. The two pass-throughs add together. A card issued abroad and charged in a foreign currency on the Basic plan costs 3.8% + 1.5% + 1% = 6.3% + 30¢ — $6.60 on a $100 order.Klarna and Afterpay
A Klarna or Afterpay payment carries the processor’s own rate for that method in place of the domestic card fee — 5.99% + 30¢ for Klarna and 6% + 30¢ for Afterpay — plus your plan’s commission:Disputes — at cost
When a customer disputes a payment with their bank, the disputed amount is taken from your payments account, and the processor charges a dispute fee:- Dispute received — $15. Charged whatever the outcome, and not refunded even if the dispute is decided in your favour.
- Dispute contested — a further $15 when evidence is submitted to contest the dispute. If you win, this fee is returned and credited back to you in full.
Payouts and your payments account — at cost
- Payout fee — 0.25% + 25¢ of each payout sent to your bank account.
- Active account fee — $2 per month, for each calendar month in which your payments account receives at least one payout. A month with no payout has no account fee.
How fees are collected
Inside the payment. The card processing rate, the international card and currency conversion pass-throughs, and the Klarna and Afterpay rates are deducted from each payment at the moment it is charged, before the money reaches your balance. Subscription renewals and post-purchase offers charged to a saved card are priced off that card the same way. From your balance. Dispute fees, payout and account fees, and any international or currency conversion cost that could not be taken inside a payment — for example, when the card’s issuing country was not available at the time of the charge — are deducted from your PlatformDTC Payments balance.- A deduction never takes your balance below zero. Anything it cannot cover yet is carried forward and collected when funds arrive.
- Every amount is itemised on Finance → Payouts, under Platform fees: what it was for, the period, the amount, and whether it is owed, being collected, collected or credited — together with every deduction made from your balance.
- Costs from before September 11, 2026 are not deducted until at least 14 days after we email you notice.
If you believe an amount is wrong, email [email protected] within 60 days of the date it
was collected. We review it and credit or refund anything collected in error. A rate card agreed in
writing for your store still applies to that store.
