Your customers have an account where they see their orders, subscriptions, membership, rewards, saved cards and details. There’s nothing to set up: an account exists for every customer who buys from you.

Signing in

Customers sign in with their email address. There is no password.
  1. They enter the email address they used at checkout.
  2. They get an email with a 4-digit code. It comes from your store’s name, and the subject is “Your store name sign-in code”.
  3. They type the code and land back where they started: the checkout, the product page, or their account.
The code works once and expires after 5 minutes. Asking for a new code replaces the old one.

It looks like your store

The sign-in page shows your logo, your store name and your button colour, and links to your terms of service and privacy policy. Customers don’t see PlatformDTC’s name or logo on it. The page knows which store sent the customer from the link they followed: the Sign in link at checkout, the member sign-in on a members-only product, and the links in your emails all carry it.

Where the account lives

Customer accounts are at https://platformdtc.com/checkout, and customers sign in at https://platformdtc.com/checkout/signin, even when your checkout runs on your own domain. The page still shows your brand, as described above. Old links to checkout.platformdtc.com (in emails already sent, for example) forward to the new address on their own. Customers who were signed in there sign in once more. Links in the emails your store sends open straight to the right page, with no code to type:
  • Renewal reminders: skip, pause, delay or cancel the next order.
  • The cancel page the support agent sends when a customer emails to cancel. After they cancel, take your save offer or select Keep my subscription, the Manage subscription button opens their account already signed in. See Cancel requests by email.
  • Subscription and membership emails: Manage subscription, Update payment method and the membership buttons open that subscription or membership, signed in.
  • Rewards emails: View your rewards opens the customer’s rewards, signed in.
  • Gift subscriptions: the person receiving the gift claims it from the email.
Each link works only for the customer it was sent to, once, for 7 days. After that it opens the sign-in page with your brand.
  • Membership: member prices, and what members see in their account.
  • Loyalty: the rewards page in the customer’s account.
  • Checkout URLs: where your checkout is served.
